Letter to Members July 20 2017

Dear Brothers and Sisters

Swissport is alleging at the Federal Board that there was an unlawful strike on the weekend based on the number of sick calls on Saturday and Sunday. Swissport has blamed the Union because of rumors allegedly going around the workplace.

I want to be very clear with all of my brothers and sisters.  We have not called for any type of strike or work stoppage, nor do we condone this type of activity. Until the Union issues a lawful strike notice, continue to show up for work as you have for numerous years.

I also want to be very clear with Swissport management; if and when my brothers and sisters make a decision to call a strike, the Company will know.  It will not be in the form of rumours between co-workers or their own management. It will not be in the form of a few people calling in sick. If and when the Union calls a strike, it will be a lawful strike, and will involve all of my brothers and sisters in solidarity.

In Solidarity,

Harjinder S Badial
Vice President
